Allergen profile in hand and foot eczema: An Indian scenario

Eczema affecting hands and feet is one of the most common causes visit to a dermatologist. It can take chronic course leading significant agony patient also pose therapeutic challenge treating doctor. Clinical presentation, symptomatology disease activity varies from patient. One crucial step in management includes identification any underlying contact allergen avoiding it. At present, patch test remains as only scientific proof allergic dermatitis. As it not possible person for all known or unknown allergens, good history, clinical examination will guide us determine allergens be tested. In our study we have made an attempt analyse pattern causing hand foot eczema local population. Aim Objectives: To identify causative by testing using Indian standard series, patients with eczema. Material Methods: Fifty were included was done series allergens.Results: 64% showed positivity at least allergen. Parthenium allergen, followed potassium dichromate paraphenylene diamine. Allergen profile varied between eczema.Conclusion: High index suspicion perform proper interpretation results essential successful treatment eczema, especially recurrent recalcitrant cases.
